Bohlin Group, formerly “Muller Bohlin & Associates, Inc.”, is a certified women-owned business based in New Jersey, founded in the winter of 1998. The company began as a boutique civil planning and engineering firm, working primarily on projects in local New Jersey communities that focused on economic development, with a specialty in transportation.

In its 26-year history, Bohlin Group has proven success with major infrastructure and development projects across the nation, with a strong NY/NJ presence. Bohlin Group has secured over $1 billion for its clients through alternative funding sources and has assisted in the development of high-profile, scalable pilot projects that have had an everlasting impact on the industries in which it operates.

  • PROJECT EXPERIENCE

    Tiffany Bohlin has worked in and around the Transportation, Logistics, and Infrastructure (TLI) industry for over thirty years. Her range of expertise, specifically in railroading, extends beyond her engineering capabilities to strategic advisory services, operations, system design an industrial development. Her clients range from some of the largest industrial developers in the country to transportation manufacturers and large public sector clients in need of TLI support services. Working with all levels of government, Tiffany has delivered over $1B in project financing at impressively low costs of operational and development capital throughout her career.

    EDUCATION

    Tiffany Bohlin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University and a Masters of Transportation Engineering degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.


  • PROJECT EXPERIENCE

    As a Partner at Bohlin Group, an infrastructure advisory, Alexander oversees dimensions of early-stage project development in transportation and renewable energy projects nationwide. Currently, he is critically positioned in the multi-billion-dollar Pacific Coast Intermodal Port development, for which he oversees federal loan and grant applications on behalf of the client. His versatile role includes financial modeling, stakeholder engagement between project partners, project customers, investors, and government officials at all levels.

    EDUCATION

    BSc in Economics from King’s College London with First Class Honors. His education incorporated extensive quantitative preparation in econometrics, multivariable optimization theory, advanced time series analysis and machine learning systems.


  • PROJECT EXPERIENCE

    John has over 17 years of experience in the solid waste-by-rail industry, working with Class I and short-line railroads. His early positions included operating equipment, learning operations, environmental compliance, and rail logistics. Moving into management roles, John has been involved in asset turnarounds and integration of rail assets within organizations operating outside of the rail sector. In his current role with Bohlin Group, he works with clients to optimize their construction and transportation operations, as well as, identifying new opportunities using rail infrastructure or equipment.

    EDUCATION

    John received his BS in Business Administration with a second major in Political Science from The State University of New York at Fredonia.


  • PROJECT EXPERIENCE

    In 2016, Matthew began working at Bohlin Group as a Proposal Specialist. Utilizing his ability to compile large and multifaceted reports, Matthew produced grant funding applications that resulted in clients receiving significant funding allocations. Some notable projects included working with trade unions on their groundbreaking hybrid educational platform and streamlining their training to meet changing industry demands. As this initiative evolved into an educational and replicable model for the future of educational and technical workforce training, Matthew was promoted to Project Manager, overseeing this project, amongst others. In 2022, Matthew’s role changed and is now the Chief of Staff for the company. He works directly with the CEO, supporting Ms. Bohlin in the day- to-day management of the company and leads planning processes across the organization.

    EDUCATION

    Matthew holds a Master’s in Environmental Management from Stellenbosch University, studied Sustainable Development abroad at Utrecht University, and is a member of the Golden Key Society.
